Sara and Brad planned their destination Halifax Wedding from their home in Ontario. And though we didn’t get to meet in person until the night before their marriage, I knew that the day would be amazing and that we would get along really well (I wasn’t wrong).
As a talented, professional MUA (Make Up Artist), Sara did all her own makeup. Her soon-to-be mother-in-law is an amazingly competent hair dresser, and did an amazing job. The bride’s father is a jeweller and custom made the wedding rings for both the bride and groom. Stunning! I wish they all lived closer, because I would recommend them to all my local brides! I love these personal touches to a wedding.
From the beginning, this lovely couple knew they wanted photos at Peggy’s Cove – a very iconic East Coast scene – where Brad had originally intended to propose before a snow storm altered his plan.
We started our official “portraits” part of the day early with a private and tender first look on a trail in the woods, complete with personal vows and love letters that the bride and groom had written to each other. Then we all travelled together in my “mini limo” down to Peggy’s Cover, where we braved the strong winds, the throngs of hundreds of tourists, and blinding sun, to capture some magic images that I feel really highlight then sweet closeness this couple shares.
The venue was unique, and provided full service everything – from horse drawn carriage rides back to the ceremony + reception location, which was complete with zip lines and games for guests, plenty of drinks and great food, cabins for overnight stays, fire pits, a rubber rodeo, a lake…. and much more. Everything was beautiful and everything ran smoothly.
But it was really the people who made this wedding such a success. The beautiful relationships of the bride with everyone in her family, all the other couples, the groom’s sweet family. There were so many people there to support, to cheer on, to laugh and cry with the bride and groom.
It was exactly the kind of wedding day full of love that every couple would want.
